GNFA Merit Award & Graduates Recognition – 2015


On July 26th, GNFA Chairperson, Dr. Darshan Singh Saluja presented $2,000 Merit

Award to Jaskeerat Kaur, who will continue her education for Bachelor of Science

degree in the field of Public Health and Pre-med Studies at the University of

Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC). UMBC is an American public research and

honors university, located in Baltimore County, Maryland. .

Our congratulations go to Jaskeerat Kaur who is the daughter of Tajinder Kaur and

Gurvinder Singh Ahluwalia.

Every year GNFA gives one, $2,000 Merit Award to a college bound High School

graduate. Criteria for the award include: GPA and SAT score; involvement in the

GNFA activities; GNFA membership of individual and parents; score in an

extempore – Sikhi related essay; an interview; and individual achievements in and

outside of GNFA Community. This year Education Committee forwarded the

names of five (5) qualified candidates to a panel of three (3) Judges, who pickup

Jaskeerat as the winner.

Also, on Sunday, July 26th, GNFA recognized seven (7) – High School graduates of

GNFA Community. Year 2015 – High School Graduates were:

Chetveer Singh Aneja, Gujri Kaur Chadha, Gurleen Kaur Ahuja, Hargeet K. Singh,

Jaskeerat Kaur, Jas Raj Singh and Sunmeet Kaur.

Every graduate got GNFA Certificate for their academic excellence, outstanding

leadership, and service to others. We are so proud of our Graduates and wish them

all the best of luck in their studies and future life.
