15th Annual Washington Capital Sikh Youth Kirtan Sammelan information packet

Registration deadline: April 28, 2019 for May 25 event at GNFA

The registration form, along with the rules/guidelines and judging criteria are attached. Each jatha should have an adult coordinator who sends information of the entire jatha on one form. The form should be emailed to the dharmik committee coordinator, Harjeet Singh Jandu at   singhharjeet@hotmail.comor given to him in person at GNFA on Sunday, April 28, 10:30 am-11:30 am. The deadline must be observed to ensure a spot for your jatha.

Annual Cultural Program – Dec 2, 2018

14th Annual Washington Capital Youth Kirtan Sammelan

Sadh Sangat ji,

The Dharmik committee of Guru Nanak Foundation of America, Silver Spring, Maryland, extends its warm invitation to you to participate in the 14th Annual Washington Capital Youth Kirtan Sammelan to be held at GNFA on Saturday, May 26, 2018 from 10 am-6:00 pm. The goal of this sammelan is to encourage our youth to sing shabad-pardhan gurbani kirtan incorporating traditional elements like mangalacharan and shaan, to the accompaniment of Sikh heritage instruments like rabab, saranda, dilruba, taus, sarangi and jori.
The rules and guidelines, judging criteria and registration form are attached. The four age groups are Juniors: 7-10, Intermediates: 11-14, Seniors:15-18, and Advanced: 19-25 years (age on Dec 31, 2017). We welcome your participation as competing or non-competing jathas.
Your help to the organizers by observing the registration deadline of April 21, 2018 will be much appreciated. Each jatha should appoint an adult coordinator who should complete and send the registration form containing information about each member of the jatha by April 21, 2018.
