The movie ‘London Singhs’ is inspired by true events, based on the life of two UK-based Sikh kids who are living happily.
Both are brought up in a rich Sikh culture. And, as life has both positive and negative aspects. Once, during their schooling, they are prohibited to wear their kirpaans inside the school premises, and their family decides to fight for their religious right in the court.
In short, ‘London Singhs’ is based upon the allegiance to basic human rights, to allow everybody to practice their religion freely.
All Khalsa School parents, teachers and students, as well as other members of the sangat, are welcome to watch this free movie on Sunday, Oct 6th 11:00 AM-12:15 pm in the diwan hall.
We are excited to have our fourth annual Backpack Project! This year, we are donating 460 backpacks to underpriveleged students at Joann Leleck Elementary School in Montgomery County. Each backpack must contain two notebooks, one pack of 24 crayons, one pack of 12 colored pencils, eight No. 2 pencils, and two glue sticks. We really appreciate all donations. However, make sure all donations are new and packaged. If you would like to make a monetary donation instead of purchasing supplies, contact Herjit Jandu at 410-300-2757. If you are ordering supplies online and would like to deliver them directly to me, contact me at 410-300-2757 for the address. Please comment the number of items you are bringing and select that many slots. We are also in need of volunteers to assemble the backpacks on August 25 at 2pm at GNFA.
This is truly a GNFA community wide event and we can only be successful with the help of our Sangat. Thank you for your support.
